It's been awhile since a blog post has been sent out, so I wanted to take some time to write one up and give an update. I hope you guys have done a better job than my family has with dodging the two million different sicknesses going on right now. The kids that have been healthy and haven't had other conflicts have been doing a great job in the hitting center over the past 3 months. We have also had a few teams take advantage of the full sized infield at The Yard in Peoria.
I've enjoyed working with the 9U, 11U Black, and 15U teams on Saturdays. Chi Chi has been able to make a few Sunday practices with 10U Orange, 11U Orange, and 10U Black. We were also able to get Braedon Blackford (Current d1 player at Purdue Fort Wayne) in to help out 13U and 11U Orange yesterday. Matt Cerda has also started his bi-weekly softball practices up for our 8U team.
Jerseys, bat bags, and helmets have all been ordered. In fact, the jerseys have already arrived (with the exception of 15U) and are down at the center! I'm also excited about our 3D rubber Ox decals for the helmets this year. After the holiday break, the players will receive all their gear at practice. I am looking forward to seeing all the different designs each coach came up with for their team.
It's now time for coaches to start selecting the tournaments they want in for next season. Coaches select the tourney and then I send in the fees. In terms of percentage of player fee, this is the largest expense we have as an organization so please make sure we are up to date on the payments as any remaining fees are due 1/1.
Hopefully you have had a chance to pick up the team store orders that arrived a few weeks ago. We still do have a few orders down at the hitting center that can be picked up M-F 3pm - 7pm or during your team's practice time on Sat or Sun. Personally, my favorite item so far is the dri-fit long sleeve T-shirt with the hoodie!
I hope you all have a fun, relaxing, and HEALTHY holiday season. As always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns!
Thanks
Justin
