Hi everyone, I wanted to give you guys an update on some of the happenings around the organization this month. We are in the last month of outside games and practices so most of our teams have been taking advantage of the last bits of nice weather for the year. Most of our baseball boys have had practices or fall scrimmages and will be making the switch to indoor practices soon. Our teams with Jr high players have given the boys a breather after their seasons, and our high school teams have had many players currently engaged in other school sports (which is awesome) so we will wait until our optional indoor practices to get these boys together. As for our softball girls, they have been practicing, playing games, and even tournaments! They hit the ground running right after tryouts and went to work. Most of our softball teams even have their jersey designs in & are looking forward to receiving them soon! Quick note on jerseys- our baseball teams will start trying on sample jerseys throughout the months of October & November as they get inside for team practices. Jerseys take 4-5 weeks to produce and ship so we try to find the balance between ordering too early (and having some boys grow out of the size they ordered) & ordering too late. Having the orders in by December is that sweet spot.
RAFFLE TICKETS- I am ready to collect tickets & ticket money at any time. If your team set up someone to handle all the tickets, he/she can reach out to me and we will coordinate a drop off time. If your team did not establish someone you can drop off the tickets & money at Fletcher's Hitting Center in Pekin anytime M-F 3:30 PM - 7:30 PM. If you need extra tickets, there are some (not a lot) left down at the center. If you took raffle tickets that you do not think you will sell- no problem. Please drop them back off at the center so others can grab them. DEADLINE FOR TICKETS- JAN 1. TEAM STORE- Wow! We had over 180 orders during the two weeks the team store was open. It's going to be awesome to see all the Ox swag this spring/summer. Screen Graphics requested that I send out a message letting everyone know that they received all the items in to their shop today, and they will start getting to work on our orders! *NOTE* These orders will take longer than normal to get out due to the large number of orders they received. We are talking over 1,000 clothing items ordered. Please be patient while they work through this!
SPONSORS- The final date to get sponsor checks in will be Jan 1. We need to have all sponsors collected by this date so we can get the banner orders submitted in time for the spring. Note- I still have several logos to put on the Facebook page. I try to avoid posting more than 1-2 per day. If November arrives and you still have not seen your sponsor's logo up on our page please reach out and let me know. Four our older players (13U-17U) now is the time to get in the weight room and get stronger for next spring and summer. Strength & mobility are HUGE parts of what makes certain athletes better than others. Simply put, if you are not getting stronger you are falling behind. Parents, do what you can to encourage your players to get their workouts in daily.
